Two Shades Are Better Than One - Mixing Foundation

Hello everyone,
So yes I found my perfect foundation the Revlon Colorstay makeup in Toast but wait something happened or what? It got too light for me or I got darker? I'm not so sure.. It just stopped fitting.. started making me look like a scarecrow... Have you ever experienced that too?

Ok... Mixing foundation isn't really a new trick... I feel almost everyone knows about it. The main trick is to get two foundations with (almost) same consistency, be sure to mix foundation with almost same ingredient i.e don't mix water based foundation with oil based one and of course diffrent shades -a darker one and a lighter one- in my case I have Mac studio fix fluid in NW47 and Revlon Colorstay makeup in Toast. I mix both in a tester jar- I know most people mix right before every application- but I love to mix in advance in case of those rush hours... I always mix this way dark < light,..--e.g 1 spoon dark 2 spoons light-- just an example I don't measure with spoons.

These two mixed together are perfect for me, maybe a bit heavy, doesn't break me out and stays for good number of hours.. They both give medium coverage on their own.. and blends in well too....

Do you mix your foundations too? Let me know what foundation(s) you mix! Have a fabulous day!

  1. Omg! I thought it was just me, haha. I mix foundation with tinted moisturizer though. Sometimes it's a hit or miss because it's either too light or too dark, haha. But then again, I don't measure when I should. Great tip! :)

I hope we can follow each other. ^^

  6. I haven't tried mixing foundations, but it's a good idea to get the perfect shade for a skin tone.

  7. Revlon color stay in Capuccino works well for me, so I don't have to mix shades.
