Buying is fun, especially when you find a great deal but sometimes you can end up getting things you actually do not need. No jokes it's so hard to resist that 70% off or buy one free offer, it is ok if you have money to throw around but when you're on a budget it can be a bit hard to keep up, I've put together 3 tips that can help you re think buying that fancy item... well it does work for me--errrm!
When going shopping in stores or online here are a few questions to ask yourself before paying for that item....
Do I really need it? there is a big difference between wanting and needing something, just because a lipstick is markdown to RM10 doesn't mean you need it, especially if you already have same color. Ok so if you a lot of money to throw around then get but you and I both know that product will probably sit on the shelf till it expires.
Can I get it cheaper somewhere else? well this days there are a lot of sellers with same products but different name tag or if not same at least similar and that apart some store particularly love to hike their prices- I honestly don't know why- so be sure to look round, check other stores/websites before you commit to buy, might be a RM5 difference and sometimes even more but it's still cool to know you saved yourself some bucks. You can also wait for sale periods(if you are patient), check out online deals (coupon codes etc.).
Is it worth it? I know a pair of Christian Louboutin is totally worth it but let's be realistic if your pay check isn't smiling and buying a pair will leave you broke for another month then Dear Sister it is not worth it.. The current trends will pass and you'll be left with an empty pot and no bus pass. OK it's perfectly ok to save up weekly or monthly for something you want to buy that is commitment.
I hope these 3 tips helps you make good decisions next time you're out shopping or planning to, well to be honest it isn't easy, somethings are just eye catchy and irresistible but then we can't have them all.
Let me know if you have more tips! I'll love to hear from you! Have a fabulous day!
