Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation

Hello beauties,

The struggle for an HG foundation is endless haha! so the saga continues with Amazonian Clay Foundation. For someone who has acne scars, a full coverage foundation is like a real big deal, because of course we want cover up, I've read a few nice things about the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Foundation, since it claims to give full coverage and last for 12 hours I thought "what else can a girl want?! or maybe ask for".
They don't have much shades which is very bad, I think they have about 9 shades or so if I'm not wrong, this of course is a downside, my shade is deep. The packaging is pretty simple, comes in a tube-like package unlike most foundation and it is 50ml so you're getting more products.

Consistency is kinda mousy and slightly thick but not too thick, reminds me of Revlon whipped foundation but not as thick, it applies smoothly and even though it's thick it doesn't feel cakey on the skin, now for the main part - is it a full coverage foundation?! NO! in my opinion it is medium to build-able coverage(most full coverage foundations one layer is ok really!)  and another question, does it last for 12hours?! emmm well I haven't worn it for 12hours but it does last pretty well but it transfer tho.

Dear oily skin ladies, yes it is oil free, the finish is definitely matte and it's beautiful, fresh and flawless! Trust me on that! it feels sticky after application and I did notice that with this foundation I start to get oily in my T-zone area after about 6-7(and not seriously oily like before) It also has SPF 15 so go play in the sun all day! Yah! I apply with a buffing brush and few face mist spray!

In the before and after picture below you will notice my scars are still peeping through and they look greyish but I believe this is normal as I normally color correct first to cancel all that out-- so with color correcting and concealing it comes out flawless! So basically I apply only one layer
with color correcting which is pretty much same for most of my foundations.

You will like this if: you want a light weight but nice coverage foundation, love cruelty free products and if you color correct and conceal.
You might not like if you expect a full-full coverage without concealer.
sorry about the lighting but hope u get it! lol PS I was having a really bad skin day! :(
Have you tried the Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation?! or any Tarte product?! What is/are your favorite foundations! Now SERIOUSLY what full coverage foundation do you recommend?

Have a fabulous day and stay beautiful!

  2. First off, your skin looks absolutely beautiful and your acne scars are almost negligible!!. I have been waiting for this review for ages because I have heard so many good things about this foundation. I just had not read any review form anyone with a similar skin type and complexion as mine so a MASSIVE THANK you for this. I am super surprised that it is not full coverage as it has been touted to be but it looks really beautiful on you...xx

  4. Oh this looks and sounds fabulous! I've used the rimmel stay matte mousse foundation and that's the only type of moussey thick consistency foundation I've tried and I loved it. I'm glad this line has a good shade range and the coverage and finish does look great!
